Film’s Logline

A cloned warrior, while pursuing an enemy, stumbles into a mysterious land inhabited by an ancient civilization. Unable to find a way out, he builds a family and lives happily for 20 years—until his comrades arrive. It turns out that time in this realm flows over 520,000 times faster than normal, meaning he had entered only 20 minutes before them. Even more painfully, his wife is revealed to be the daughter of the enemy, who had wandered into the realm just 7 minutes before him. Torn between his ideals and his family, he must make an impossible choice…

Following the international success of the award-winning 2D animated short Broken Being: Prequel (2019)—which earned accolades including being the top prize at the KHEM Animation Film Festival and more than 10 prestigious laurels—Broken Being: Refuse to Awake expands the universe with an ambitious feature-length production. The film is a fusion of science fiction and the ancient Vietnamese legend "Tu Thuc meets a fairy".

Harnessing state-of-the-art 3D technologies such as Metahuman and advanced animation workflows, the film brings to life a stunningly immersive world—both haunting and beautiful. Each frame is crafted with cinematic precision, blending traditional Vietnamese aesthetics with futuristic design to create a visual experience that is both globally appealing and deeply rooted in local identity.
